Yes, you read the title correctly. Our very own Hillary Clinton is the first ever to receive the Michael Kors award for no, not her infamous pantsuits and bland color routines, but for her outstanding community service at the Golden Heart Awards Dinner on the 16th of October.
Mark your calendars because our Secretary of State being honored at an award ceremony by the famous New York fashion designer. It’s a bit more shocking to the world of poly-sci than it is to you fashionistas out there. Let’s not get too overwhelmed with the affiliation though — Hillary Clinton has done much to receive such a prestigious award as this, making the world just that much more easier to live in due to her services helping to end the strike on hunger, which has affected millions upon millions of children and adults. She is also lending a hand and support to those who are struggling with death-defying diseases and life-threatening illnesses. It is nice to see a moment in fashion where a list of celebrated philanthropists will replace a list of “what’s hot and what’s not.” The generosity of caring hearts, along with brave faces willing to make a stand for those who may feel forgotten, will shine through…but let’s still not be mistaken, even Mr. Kors himself will most likely be coming through with his most stylish articles, but debuting his heart on his sleeve.
