Three cheers for the start of football season!! In honor of 2014 season, Smirnoff Ice wowed crowds again with their Ladies with Game Tailgate party last week. The event, which was held at Hudson Mercantile, hosted a slew of women, as well as men, who were all out to celebrate football. Celebrity host Jessie James Decker got the party amped up for the season as guests enjoyed plenty of games, food, and of course, drinks.
The event was set up with fun games like Jenga, a Hail Mary toss, Connect Four, cornhole and plenty more. A DJ spun fun tunes throughout the evening, ensuring everyone was dancing while munching on tasty bites such as chicken and waffle sliders. And since Fashion Week was only one day away, the event also allowed ladies to get their hair and nails done by professionals.
We had the opportunity to speak with Jessie James Decker about what team she’s rooting for (can you guess?), her fantasy team and more!
I assume I know what team you’re rooting for this season, but I have to ask anyway.

Have you been playing Fantasy for a while?
Yes, for the last two seasons.
Have you won yet?
I was the runner up. I think the team leader cheated though because I should have won.
So with Fashion Week starting tomorrow, I have to ask, are you into it?
Absolutely. This is my first year ever doing it and I’m so pumped.
What are you looking forward to the most?
I am probably looking forward to the Elie Tahari event, because they invited me, they dressed me, and I am just so excited about it. I was there today trying on the clothes and they are just so nice.
What is your favorite clothing staple you love right now?
Probably cut-offs. I wear them every day. It’s just so easy to dress them up or dress them down.
After we caught up with Jessie, it was time to try some of the refreshing and fruity Smirnoff Ice cocktails. Luckily, we took home some of the recipes, so now you can try them, too!
Screwdriver Sangria
Serves 10
- 2 cups Smirnoff Ice Screwdriver
- 2 cups Butterfly Kiss Pinot Grigio
- Fruit to garnish: Oranges, cherries, strawberries
Soak fruit in wine. Pour in punch bowl. Stir in Smirnoff Ice Screwdriver.
Smirnoff Ice Apple Preparada
- Smirnoff Ice Green Apple (you can use any flavor)
- Fresh fruit (strawberries, pineapple, orange, kiwi – your choice!)
- Candy (optional)
- Chamoy
- Chili Lime Salt
Layer fresh fruit, chamoy, chili lime salt, and candy (optional) over ice. Add any Smirnoff Ice flavor. Stir. Garnish with fruit as desired.
Instead of opting for the classic beers to pair with your football Sundays, switch things up and try out some of these cocktails. Happy football season!
