Date night. Family night. Friend night. Whatever your needs, Taboon supplies. Hailed as a “Middleterranean” restaurant, Taboon, located in Hell’s Kitchen, dishes out some of the tastiest bites around town. As can be surmised, the restaurant is known for its fusing of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine and its warm, clean atmosphere is reminiscent of Greece and let’s be honest…who doesn’t want to venture there?

Equipped with both indoor and outdoor seating and a warm, friendly staff, Taboon has quickly climbed to the top our ‘must try’ list. Even a bite of their infamous focaccia bread, homemade in their white-domed oven, will have you raving. Chef Efi Nahon, who just came back to Taboon after a stint at Bustan, has not failed to impress us yet. The menu is comprised of an array of mezes, or small plates, as well as soups, salads, and larger entrees. It’s tough to narrow it down so we suggest sharing with your company so you can try more. From Zucchini Cakes to Black Iron Shrimp and more, Taboon has options for both vegetarians and omnivores alike.

The entrees give way to more substantial plates, with standouts including the Baked Ricotta Gnocchi, made with dried porcini mushroom sauce, seasonal mushrooms, artichokes and parmesan, and the Terra Cotta Lamb Kebabs, which are cleverly served within a Mediterranean pot pie with Colorado ground lamb, charred onion, plum tomatoes, pine nuts and a flatbread dome. Other choices include Chicken Taboon, Short Ribs, Branzino and more.

Taboon also has an impressive list of desserts, among which we tried the delectable Malabi Pot Du Creme, which consisted of a blueberry compote, pistachio ice cream and pistachio crumbs and was quickly devoured. Other desserts include Silan, Date Sponge Cake, Semolina Cake and more. In addition to the wonderful food, Taboon has a wordly selection of wines by the glass and by the bottle, as well as a selection of signature cocktails. Whatever tipple you go with will be a good choice.

No matter what part of the city you reside in, make sure to add Taboon on your to-do list. It won’t disappoint but will be responsible for a minor weight gain (worth it!).
