3×3, or 9 After 9: Do You Know What Your Neighbors Are Doing?

Over the weekend, The Survivalists, a newly formed theatre group, officially launched as they presented the premiere of 3×3, or 9 After 9 at The Access Theater. The show is highly relatable, as it focuses on the going ons of neighbors in an apartment building. Written by Michael Christopher, Shane Breaux and Kevin Brewer, the off-beat comedy features a cast of 9 actors, who portray 22 eccentric characters, all living in the same New York City apartment building.

Everyone in the world has neighbors, unless you live on a farm in the middle of nowhere, and these neighbors are in particularly close proximity to you if you live in New York City. If curiosity is not a sin, then you might find yourself wondering what that couple upstairs are always yelling about or what that yipping dog next door is so crazy about. 3×3, or 9 After 9 quells your curiosity while visiting a nine-bedroom apartment building (3×3) and its tenants. Hop from the aggression therapist to the hyper party animal to the nosy Girl Scouts and witness what is taking place in each apartment at 9:09pm. It’s an emotional roller coaster as you laugh with some neighbors, cry with others or simply squirm in your seat as a couple delves into their first threesome.

The cast features James Addison, Betsy Bell, Kay Capasso, Emily Code, Claire Epstein, Matt Gottlieb, Sarah Miller, Matthew McDonald and Mike Shimkin. The play will run until June 16th with performances Wed-Sat at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased here.
