A great spot in the Financial District is expanding its horizons and opening up shop in Murray Hill. Hole in the Wall, which is also home to Sugar Momma come nighttime, is an Australian dining outpost and its new location brings a much needed sophistication to the area. Located within the American Copper Building, the restaurant will offer café fare during the day, and a seasonal dinner menu in the evening, with seating both inside and outdoors.

Dinner will offer decadent options like the OG Burger, Koji Glazed Pork Belly, and the Wagyu Sirloin Flap, which we can attest, is cooked to perfection with a slight spicy kick and is accompanied by Hasselback potatoes, black garlic, shiitake and pan jus. Lighter options are also available, with options like the Char Grilled Branzino Filet and Vegan Bolognese. If you’re looking for something on the sweeter side, dessert is also served at Hole in the Wall, with select options like Almond Cake, Chocolate Tart and Banana Tarte Tatin.

The cocktails here hit the spot — we loved their Rosemary Old Fashioned, but other ‘tails include their Cucumber Margarita, Milo Espresso Martinis, Bloody Orange Negroni, and the refreshing Montauk. The space also offers a natural wine list.

During the day, customers can take their pick of healthy dishes like the Organic Acai Bowl, Chili Scrambled Eggs, or Mexican Baked Eggs, and more substantial items like Fermented Soba Noodle Salad, Fried Polenta and Shrooms, and Jalapeños Sweet Corn Fritters. A full brunch menu is going to launch soon, as well!

And not to overshadow the new space, but it has also teamed up with JDS Developments to open up The Sentry, a rooftop area above Hole in the Wall that will house a pool and event space that is set to open on Memorial Day Weekend. Swimming, cocktails and light bites overlooking the East River? Sign me up!
