Tavern 29

Not that New York City is lacking in bar or restaurants, but we love to keep you updated on all the best ones. People tend to go to the same spots over and over again, but if you’re looking to change up your routine there is one place you must venture to. Tavern 29, comprised of three floors, has got it all. Whether you choose to dine on the rooftop biergarden or one one of the two floors below, you are sure to have a great time.

Tavern 29

Let’s start with the beers. They have 24 craft beers on tap, which rotate frequently. From well-known brands to the more obscure, they have all your bases covered. Not to mention they also carry quite a few beers by the bottle and can, as well. Tavern 29 also offers beer flights , as well as some inspiring whisky flights! But just because they have an outrageous beer selection doesn’t mean you have to stick to that. The restaurant also offers quite the selection of cocktails. And no, they aren’t your average bar cocktails. The menu, which changes seasonally, uses fresh ingredients like cucumber and rosemary, and also features unique and delicious beer cocktails.

Butternut Squash Ravioli

Now since the cocktails aren’t light on the liquor, you will certainly need something to soak it up, which is where the amazing food comes into play. You wouldn’t guess that this place has some outstanding dishes on the menu, but you don’t hear me complaining. During my tasting with one of my favorite bloggers, Somm in the City, we had the pleasure of trying quite a few spectacular dishes. We started off with Butternut Squash Ravioli, which was surprisingly topped with crumbled amaretto cookies. This dish was such a great spin on classic butternut squash ravioli; I just loved it! Next, we had the most delightful Fried Calamari Salad. The calamari topped cabbage, apples, and beet carrot salad, all drizzled with an Asian vinaigrette. It had just the right amount of kick and would make the perfect start to any meal. We were getting full at this point, but that didn’t stop us from devouring the Slider Trio comprised of a Kobe beef slider, lobster and guac slider, and pulled pork slider. You can enjoy these along with truffle Parmesan or sweet potato fries. It’s hard to choose a favorite among this trio because they were all perfection. And if we had to guess, everything else on the menu at Tavern 29 is probably just as killer.

Whether you are looking for a great meal, a fun night out, or late night eats, this place should definitely top your list!

Tavern 29 is located at 47 E. 29th Street.
