This year’s Manhattan Cocktail Classic was out of this world. With over 100 events and 8,000 attendees, it is safe to say that this is one week in the city that you don’t want to miss. On Sunday afternoon, the Astor Center, along with Johnny Iuzzini, hosted a two hour walk around tasting of chocolate and cocktails, sponsored by Valrhona Chocolates.
Chocolate and cocktail lovers flocked to this event, where they could sample Valrhona’s signature line of chocolates at the bar, all while watching some of the city’s best mixologists whip up custom cocktails to enhance the taste of each chocolate. Additionally, guests were able to walk around and sample bespoke desserts made by New York’s premier chocolatiers and pastry chefs, each paired with a complementary spirit.
Even on a rainy day, this place was hopping with cocktail fiends and the chocolate obsessed, and for good reason. It’s not every day that New York’s best come together to supply the public with delicious goodies all under one roof. We loved the dessert supplied by The Lamb’s Club, which was paired with Pama Pomegranate Liqueur, Chocolate and banana pastries from Runner & Stone paired with Galliano Ristretto, and macarons from FP Patisserie paired with Sandeman Port.
