When it comes to celebrations, Audi knows how to throw down. Last week, Audi celebrated the launch of the all new Audi A3 with two events taking place on each coast of the country. The new car features some firsts in the industry, including 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot connection and MMI touch. On par with these new technologies, the bicoastal events decided to take things to another level. The event in New York City, held at SIR Stage 37, featured an energetic performance by M.I.A., while the event in Los Angeles, held at Quixote Studios, featured a performance by Janelle Monáe. As the finale for the performances, attendees were blown away as each performer was joined by a cutting-edge hologram of the other artist as they performed live at their respective venues.
The concert marked the first time a hologram incorporated integrated 3D projection mapping technology and the result was phenomenal. Additionally, the live performances were live-streamed to Audi dealerships nationwide, where they hosted their own launch events. Both events also featured a custom RGB Audi A3 installation by Carnovsky, which allowed for an integrative experience that showcased colored LED lights, which played along with the printed color to display various scenes dependent on which color was being displayed.
In New York City, tasty hors d’oeuvres and never-ending cocktails enticed guests to stick around long after the performance ended. Guests were also able to check out the new car, which was on display both inside and outside the venue. With new top-of-the-line technology in both engineering and performance, we have to wonder what they will come up with next!
