It may be pouring in the city, which means no one’s leaving their apartments today. So even though there’s some great places to celebrate Cinco de Mayo around the city, we suggest making your own fun by mixing up one of these celebratory cocktails! No umbrella needed.
Angry-rita (Courtesy of Angry Orchard)
4 oz Angry Orchard Crisp Apple
1 oz Blanco Tequila
0.5 oz Grenadine
0.5 oz Lime Juice
Dash of Angostura Bitters Directions
Combine all ingredients except for cider in a cocktail shaker and shake. Pour into rocks glass with ice and top with Angry Orchard Crisp Apple. Garnish with a lime wheel.

1 part Montelobos Mezcal
1 part Ancho Reyes Original
¾ part fresh lemon juice
½ part simple syrup
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Shake, serve in a coupe glass, garnish with a lemon wheel.
Ponche Mexa (Courtesy of Jaime Salas, Milagro Tequila)
1 part Milagro Silver
½ part Ancho Reyes
1 part Mandarin Juice
½ part Lime Juice
1/2 part Agave Nectar
1 part Vanilla Dry Soda
Combine all ingredients except soda and stir to mix well. Top with soda and garnish with lime wheels and dry ancho chile strips or garnished glass with dry ancho chile confetti over dehydrated lime wheel.

2 parts Tres Agaves Blanco
6 drops of the tequila-infused with Habanero
¾ parts Lime Juice
½ part Prickly Pear Puree (such as boiron)
¾ parts Tres Agaves Agave Syrup
Add all ingredients in the shaker; add ice, shake and strain in coupe or martini glass.
Classic Coronarita (Courtesy of Corona)
1 7oz. Coronita Extra
2 oz. Tequila
1.5 oz. Triple Sec
.5 oz. Simple Syrup
1.5 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
Lime Wedge
Salt
Combine tequila, triple sec, simple syrup and fresh lime juice in a shaker. Fill halfway with ice and shake well. Rim a schooner glass with salt and fill with ice. Strain the mixture into the glass. Open the bottle of Coronita Extra and flip.
