We love discovering new spirits here at Manhattan with a Twist, and the latest one to ping on our radar is Brancamenta. This unique liqueur was inspired by opera singer Maria Callas, who was known for drinking Fernet-Branca with a splash of mint syrup. Brancamenta, made and aged the same way as Fernet-Branca, this liqueur is a natural, half-bitter spirit, which is made from the proprietary blend of herbs and spices used to produce Fernet-Branca. The spirit utilizes Piedmontese peppermint, which is the most refined mint available, to give drinkers a punch of mint flavor with every sip.
We were asked to participate in the Brancamenta Challenge to create a cocktail that braces, pleases, and makes you want another. We steered clear of variations on typical minty drinks, such as mojitos and juleps, and decided to create two unique cocktails that you can enjoy all summer long. One is a refreshing daytime drink, while the other could double as dessert. Pick up a bottle of Brancamenta and whip up these cocktails for yourself and discover all of the things you can do with this versatile spirit.
