It’s about damn time that Midtown East got a cool bar in the neighborhood. As a Midtown East resident myself, it’s been hard to convince my friends to come to my hood for a night out on the town. There’s just not much going on here. That’s why I’m SO excited that Clinton Hall has opened a new location at The Pod Hotel on 51st Street.
The restaurant and beer hall is the perfect spot for a friends’ night out, with 20 seasonal draught beers and ciders on rotation, thanks to the spot’s Flux Capacitor. The venue dishes out the ultimate in comfort food, from salivating shareables like kimchi hot dogs and loaded waffle fries, to salads and an array of craft burgers. They’re also well known for their over-the-top WTF Waffles (their Carnival cinnamon waffle is topped with vanilla ice cream, waffle cone, cotton candy, caramel sauce, hot fudge, sprinkles and caramel popcorn, for example).
But not to be outdone by the food, the space itself is certain to attract a fun, young crowd. With an industrial vibe, flat screen TVs, and an array of your favorite childhood games (Uno, Operation, Jenga, etc.), oversized games, and even a wall of life-size chess, there’s enough there to spend all day playing games. They are even planning on opening an outdoor garden in the Spring.
This is sure to be my new go to spot in the neighborhood and it should be yours, too.
