We kicked off Nolcha Fashion Week with a solo show featuring Rohitava Banerjee, a 19-year-old New Yorker. Making his NYFW debut, Banerjee showcased a collection inspired by Greece, its people, its mythology, its present, and the death of their current economy. The show was broken down into five parts, each one symbolizing one of the five Grecian rivers to the underworld.
The collection contained bright, bold colors like red and yellow, with lots of intricate detailing and structured, dramatic elements. Check out some of our favorite looks from the runway:
This season, the Nolcha Shows were held at Artbeam, where eleven separate runway shows took place thanks to official sponsors Neogrid, Citi Bank, Ercu New York, DXV by American Standard, ThermalTech, Don Q Rum and Regulus. Stay tuned for our thoughts on some of their other shows during their Fall/Winter 2016 presentation!
