What would it be like if Deadpool was a creative director tasked with promoting Espolòn Tequila in tandem with the release of his second movie? Pretty disastrous, if we do say so ourselves.
The “ad campaign” he put together plagiarized famous old ad campaigns with Espolòn branding and his own face on all of the ads. Then he forgot to invite the media, the cast members were told the wrong date, and the signage throughout the movie theater was all wrong. Thankfully, the team behind Espolòn Tequila joined forces with the Alamo Drafthouse to save the day with plenty of margaritas, popcorn, and tacos in Downtown Brooklyn.
Swag was the theme of the night, and before the movie started, everyone was asked to check under their seats for an Oprah style give-away: Deadpool branded flasks!
Alamo Drafthouse’s jovial and efficient staff delivered a plethora of well-crafted cocktails, our favorite being the Fire in the Hole, which featured Espolòn blanco, pineapple syrup, lime, cynar, and fresh jalapenos.
Along with a welcome bag of both popcorn and candy, light bites like quesadillas and carne asada tacos were served throughout the film, which was entertaining, heart-felt, and uplifting. Deadpool really pulled it together, both on-screen and off.
