Any person who lives in the city and eats meat knows of the infamous Del Frisco’s Dougle Eagle Steak House. Located conveniently in the heart of Midtown, this steak joint has welcomed people from all over to enjoy their rare steak cuts and fresh seafood. Recently, they rolled out a brand new menu which will allow New Yorkers to enjoy an even wider range of cuisine that will appeal to everyone. We had the immense pleasure of enjoying one of this season’s rare warm, sunny days on the outside patio sampling all of the added items to the new menu. Here’s what you need to know:
- The new menu is more relatable to the masses, with more casual fare like elevated classic sandwiches like French Dip and Lobster Rolls.
- The Ahi Tuna Tartare is the best I’ve ever had and arguably one of the best dishes on the menu. Made with citrus, capers, kalamata olive spread and served with crostini chips, it’s completely out of this world good.
- You can now score some lighter, healthier dishes – including the tasty Avocado Chicken Wrap (complete with quinoa, lettuce and tomatoes in a whole wheat tortilla), the Kale & Chicken Salad, and the Blue Cheese Lettuce Wedge.
- The Lobster Roll is a must-try item. Perfectly buttered and toasted buns, filled to the brim with fresh lobster, you’ll be singing its praises for days to come.
- Some of the dishes have Asian influences. The Crab Fried Rice is delicious, as is the Sesame-Seared Tuna.
- If you want to impress your company, order the Shellfish Plateau. Stacked with seafood on seafood, this impressively huge dish comes with Alaskan king crab legs, jumbo shrimp and crab claws, with options to add in lobster cocktail and jumbo lump crab louie.
- Non-steak dishes shouldn’t be overlooked. The Chicken Picatta is surprisingly satisfying!
