Last week, Manhattan with a Twist had the opportunity to try some delicious French food and beverage brands during a fun gathering hosted by Palais des Thés. We love discovering new and different products and sharing them with our readers and this was right up our alley! First and foremost, for those of you who don’t know about Palais des Thés, it is an amazing premium French tea and recently launched three clever new box sets– My Tea for the Morning, My Tea for the Office, and My Tea for the Evening. Start your day with uplifting teas, followed by a boost of energy and stress relief, and end your night by winding down. Each box contains eight bags of six different teas and sells for $38.
A delicious treat we discovered was Canelé by Céline, a high-end French pastry business specializing in mini flavored canelés and financiers. These bite-sized treats are the perfect accompaniment to any meal or drink and come in flavors such as vanilla, rum, pistachio and grapefruit. If you are unfamiliar with the canelé, it is caramelized and crispy on the outside and moist and custard-like on the inside. These mouthwatering delights are stepping up their game, as Canelé by Céline recently introduced savory options such as pesto basil and Parmesan, truffle and sweet chorizo. We tried their truffle canelé, which is made with Plantin truffles, and it was to die for. Plantin was also showcasing their recently introduced line of natural essences of herbs from Provence, called Baume des Anges, which are made for cooking and mixology. Many Michelin-starred chefs and renowned mixologists use these essences in both their cooking and cocktails. We were able to enjoy their lavendar essence along with Pommery Champagne, which tasted refreshing, light, and delightful.
Last but not least, Alain Milliat brought his gourmet collection of juices, fruit nectars and jams to the U.S. and we are not complaining. The juices taste unusually fresh and are very flavorful. They come in unique flavors such as rhubarb, autumn pear, and chardonnay white grape. We couldn’t be more thrilled that all these amazing French companies are selling in the U.S. where we can get our hungry hands on them. Make sure to check out their websites to find out where you can munch and slurp on these tasty treats!
