With plenty of soup, salad and sandwich chains all over the city, it can be hard to pick just the right one. Fresh&Co, which has nine New York City locations caters to health-conscious New Yorkers and uses local purveyors and farmers, as well as organic and sustainable items whenever possible. Not to mention, they remain true to their name — many of their locally grown products, including all their lettuce, is picked and packaged the same day and served to us New Yorkers the following day!
What really sets this place apart though is not only their healthy food, but also how unbelievably tasty it is. I often find salads to be bland and boring and a good sandwich can be hard to find. Fresh&Co uses chef-designed recipes, ensuring that your taste buds are tickled, which rotate seasonally. Currently, the brand is dishing out some delectable options like The Perfect Pear salad, which contains rainbow swiss chard, romaine, pears, pumpkin seeds, raisins, red onions, quinoa, mint, blue cheese, grilled chicken and maple walnut vinaigrette. Many customers rave about The Greater Tater sandwich, made with sweet potatoes, arugula, caramelized onions, pepper jack cheese and harissa aioli.
However, for those looking for something just a little bit different, Fresh&Co has recently launched a Quinoa Bar. It is perfect for this cold weather and will warm you up while in no time. Executive chef Jeremy Leech designed several quinoa bowls, but diners can also create their own with an array of vegetables, proteins and sauces. The base for the bowl is a blend of red and white organic quinoa, along with boiled kale, both from Satur Farms. We could not get enough of the vegan Burrito Quinoa Bowl, comprised of quinoa, roasted corn, tomatoes, kale, red beans, cilantro and tortilla strips with chipotle vinaigrette. There are plenty of other amazing options to choose from, and best of all, they taste great!
We are so excited to have discovered this great spot and are looking forward to going back for more. Check out their website for all locations.
