Entertaining friends this weekend? Going to a BBQ? No matter what your plans, it’s safe to say we know you’ll be throwing back a few drinks. Make them patriotic to celebrate the holiday…we’ve got plenty of red, white and blue options for you to try!
Drambuie Smash (Courtesy of Drambuie)
Fresh seasonal fruit (peaches, berries, plums, etc)
4-5 mint leaves
¾ part lemon juice
2 parts Drambuie
Muddle mint and fruit. Shake lightly with pebble ice and dump all (country style) into a rocks glass. Top with crushed ice and a mint sprig.
Hornitos Firecracker (Courtesy of Hornitos Tequila)
1 part Hornitos Plata Tequila
4 parts concord grape juice
½ part fresh lemon juice
Add ingredients to glass over ice and stir.
Cruzan Independence Sparkler (Courtesy of Cruzan Rum)
1 part Cruzan Strawberry Rum
1 part Cruzan Aged Light Rum
1/2 part Sugar
1 half of a Fresh Lime, cut into quarters
6 Fresh Basil Leaves
Soda Water
Muddle lime and basil with sugar in a tumbler. Add Cruzan Strawberry and Aged Light Rums and ice, then shake 2 times to mix. Pour into a rocks glass and top with soda. Garnish with basil & a fanned strawberry slice.

1.5 oz. Hendrick’s Gin
1 oz. Zu Grass Vodka
.5 oz. St. Germain
.25 oz. Blue Curacao
.5 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
Laphroaig Smoked Independence (By mixologist Ivy Mix, Brooklyn, NY)
1 1/2 parts Laphroaig 10 Year Old
1/2 part Pineapple Rum
3/4 part Lime Juice
3/4 part Simple Syrup
Barspoon Pomegranate Molasses
Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Shake and strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a lime wheel.

1.5 oz Stoli Blueberry Vodka
.5 oz lemon juice
.5 oz simple syrup
Shake and top with club soda. Splash of grenadine.

Angry Orchard Crisp Apple
1 oz blue curacao
1 oz raspberry schnapps
In a pint glass, combine 1 oz blue curacao and 1 oz raspberry schnapps over ice. Fill with Angry Orchard Crisp Apple. Garnish with a lime wedge.
Silver Watermelon Sparkler Punch (Courtesy of NOLET’S Gin)
750 ml NOLET’S Silver Dry Gin
(2.5) 750 ml bottles Sparkling Sake
24 oz. Watermelon Juice
375 ml Lemon Juice
375 ml Agave Nectar
Watermelon Chunks
Add all ingredients, except Sake, to a punch bowl. Stir well to ensure agave liquefies with other contents (shake or blend agave and lemon juice together with ice if necessary). Refrigerate to chill and top with sparkling sake prior to serving. *NOTE: Recipe is intended for multiple servings.

4¼ bottles Samuel Adams Summer Ale
2 bottles of light white wine, like a sweet Riesling
2 oz. soda water
½ cup of cognac
½ cup of apple schnapps
½ cup of simple syrup
2 honeydew melons, peeled, sliced and diced
4 oranges, cut in to wheels
Mix all ingredients except soda water together in a large bowl, and refrigerate overnight. Add 2 oz. of soda water, and serve. Serves: Approx. 40 three-ounce servings.
4th of July Spiked Sweets – Jell-O Shots (Courtesy of Monarch Rooftop)
2 cups of Vodka (or spirit of your choice)
1 package of red Jell-O (flavor of your choice)
1 package of blue Jell-O
1 package of unflavored gelatin
3 cups of water
14 oz. can of condensed milk
Starting with the bottom layer, heat 1 cup of water to a boil and dissolve 1 package of red Jell-O completely. Add 1 cup of vodka (or spirit of your choice) fill up shot glasses 1/3 of the way with mixture. Let set 1-2 hours in refrigerator. Heat 1 cup of water to a boil, dissolve 1 envelope of unflavored gelatin completely. Add 14oz can of condensed milk and stir mixing well. Let mixture cool a few minutes then pour over red layer another 1/3 of the way. Let set 1-2 hours in the refrigerator. Heat 1 cup of water to a boil and dissolve 1 package of blue Jell-O completely. Add 1 cup of vodka (or spirit of your choice) fill up shot glasses the rest of the way. Let set 1-2 hours in refrigerator. Makes 20-30 shots depending on the size of your shot glasses.
