We already know that The Doe Fund knows how to throw a great party, so obviously we are psyched about their upcoming sweet: New York tasting event on March 13th. The Doe Fund, best known for their award-winning Ready, Willing and Able program, helps formerly homeless or incarcerated men better their circumstances. The upcoming event, which will take place from 6-9pm at the Bowery Hotel will celebrate the culinary industry’s role in providing opportunities for homeless New Yorkers.
Students from The Doe Fund’s culinary employment training program will work alongside some of the city’s top chefs to bring attendees some delicious treats. Last year, over 400 New Yorker’s attended the event to feast on top notch grub, with notable NYers in attendance such as DJ Chelsea Leyland, Jessica White, Steve Madden and Taryn Manning. This year will be the third annual event, with an outstanding list of participating restaurants, including Capital Grille, Payard Pattiserie, Magnolia Bakery, Dinosaur BBQ, Lavo, Lady M Confections and many more. Additionally, beverages will be provided by Kopali Wines, Manon, Union Beer, Spud Vodka, Flora Springs and NY Distilling Company. The evening will also feature music and an exciting live auction that you won’t want to miss. Tickets for the event range from $100-$150 and can be purchased here. All proceeds from the event will benefit The Doe Fund’s Ready, Willing & Able program.
