Aperitif liquors like Amaro, Rosato, Campari, and Aperol have made a resurgence in American drinking culture, and their ubiquitous presence on every cocktail list in town makes this girl very happy.
Another brand on the scene that is well known in Italy but just beginning to drive awareness in the states is Ramazzotti. With a diverse portfolio and a backstory deeply rooted in Italian history, Ramazzotti draws inspiration from Italy’s landscape, spices, and flavors.
We had the opportunity to sit down with Ramazzotti Global Brand Ambassador Alejandro Mazza, who spoke about his experience as a citizen of the world (and Ramazzotti).
Sampling the amaro and rosato liqueurs, both in cocktails and on their own, was a delightful experience. Both are perfect for easy drinking, and pair well with any type of cuisine. Personally, I prefer to begin dinner with a lighter cocktail, and the rosato’s hints of orange blossom and hibiscus are refreshing and flavorful without being overpowering. Adding vodka, prosecco, club soda, and an orange peel doesn’t hurt either.
For me, amaro is the perfect way to end a meal. The healing properties of the digestif allows the body to relax, especially after a larger or heavier dinner. Ramazzotti’s amaro did not disappoint, and was excellent served side by side with a coffee.
