Radio Theatre’s Ghosts of Christmas Past, performed by Horse Trade Theater Group, is running through January 12, 2014. This family friendly show is playing at the Kraine Theater in the East Village, which is a great show for a wonderful Christmas Gift.

Ghosts of Christmas Past is based on the traditions starting since the Charles Dickens era. The traditions of a group of family and friends sitting around telling ghostly yarns on Christmas Eve, with a moral that will make you think about your past and the decisions you made.

If you think this is the traditional story telling of A Christmas Story you are wrong. Horse Trade tells six short stories that can relate to anyone and yes, you guessed it, all the stories are based right here in New York City. If you thought you knew every ghost story every told, guess again. These stories are bone chilling. What makes them bone chilling? That they can really happen.

One story that sticks into my mind from Ghosts of Christmas Past is about a man in a bar that is drinking his life away, until he meets an old friend in the bar, who offers to help him get out of debt and find the love of his life for this one night. Does he ever find his true love? Does he ever become debt free?
