Libertine Spring/Summer 2014 Collection at NYFW

by

Libertine‘s Spring/Summer 2014 collection was all about embellishments. Libertine showed at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center. While overly busy for your day-to-day ensembles, it sure made for an entertaining show. We admire Libertine’s use of prints, but pairing busy and complicated articles together made it overwhelming. Some of the pieces on their own, and paired with simple designs, would make for truly amazing stand-out fashion. Similarly, with such an eccentric collection, the styling could have used some help. If Libertine designer Johnson Hartig went for cleaner hair and make-up and less jewelry over already graphic designs, it would have made for a better show. The punky style of the collection was fun and playful, yet a bit overwhelming. Check out some of our favorite looks below!
