Listen Up, Men: Tips from Pirooz Sarshar

Men are curious about how they should take care of themselves, but rarely ask questions because of the possibility of damaging their masculinity. Pirooz Sarshar, founder and head coach at PRZMan, tackles those questions to help men and guide them in the right direction of being a gentleman.

Growing up in the beauty business, Sarshar gained an immense knowledge of beauty products and realized there was a niche that was not being filled. “There was always a lack of products for men and I wanted to know more about grooming,” Sarshar said. “I knew I wanted to fix that issue.”

PRZMan covers every issue or question a guy wants to ask from skin care to sex tips. It is known as ‘The Institution of Manhood,’ and Sarshar explains that it has become an online father figure to many.

“I knew it was important to educate and create a trust between our readers and myself,” he said.  “I want to make men feel more confident about themselves.”

As Sarshar was growing up, his grandfather would give him pieces of advice that helped him along the way. One tidbit that he recalled was the importance of learning a skill so you can impress yourself and others.

The term “modern gentlemen” can be seen everywhere, but none define what it is. “The modern gentlemen is someone that is timely,” he said. “They do not need a $5,000 suit, but is someone that values themselves and feels confident.”

There is no general technique that men can follow, but rather Sarshar gives advice that give them the needed confidence for a good impression. Sarshar explains that one of the most important features a man should take care of are their hands. “It is the first thing people see when they meet you,” he said. “You want to give them a good impression.”

Everyone does not want to get old or show their age, but Sarshar understands that people can not fight against it. “I like to think of us as wine, we grow finer in age,” he said.

Even though growing old is inevitable, it does not mean that men should avoid taking care of themselves. Some of the best things to do is to have a targeted cleanser for the face, skin moisturizer with SPF, tools for shaving and eye products. Sarshar noted that everyone has a different skin type so it is important to learn what are the best products for each individual.

New trends are constantly being started and men should be aware of them. Hipsters with beards are popular now Sarshar explained. “A lot of men in New York started to grow beards and then it spread throughout the country,” he said. For people thinking about growing a bread or for those who already have one, make sure to take care of them because they can become oily. “Just make sure it is clean,” he said.

Men come up to Sarshar and seem want to know the golden rule of being a gentlemen. “When I hear that question I just tell them the three things that my mother used to tell me,” he said. “Don’t be lazy, don’t be cheap and be respectful to women.”
