What’s better than eating fresh lobster in the summer in New York City? Eating fresh lobster in the summer in New York City on a boat! North River Lobster Company is in its second year as the city’s first and only floating lobster shack. Located at Pier 81 on the Hudson River, the boat plays home to a three-floor lobster hot spot, allowing customers to enjoy fresh food, literally on the water.
When The Frying Pan gets too rowdy and a boat cruise around the Statue of Liberty seems too long and boring, North River Lobster Company steps in to save the day. The spot has plenty of outdoor seating and umbrellas, as well as tons of space inside to enjoy the views and the summer weather. In addition to a full bar and specialty cocktails, the floating ‘boat’staurant’ has everything from lobster rolls and fish tacos to clam chowder and even Pat La Frieda burgers. And while you’re enjoying your fresh eats and drinks, that’s not all you can get out of this boat. The ship sets sails four to five times a day for a short 45-minute ride on the Hudson. And best of all, it doesn’t cost anything extra.
For some fun in the sun, and something just a bit different this summer, head on over to the west side and check out what’s for sail!
