MĀSK Skincare introduced the world to its brand new line of CBD (short for cannabidiol) Face Masks with a splashy, uber chic cocktail party in the West Village. Complete with a step and repeat, roped off area for photographs, CBD infused cocktails evoking the flavors of spring, a photo booth, light bites crafted by @TheHolisticChef and a live DJ, this was not a delicate affair, but rather an in your face announcement of a new product line poised to dominate the self-care industry.
Riding high on the CBD movement, skincare is the latest industry to get a facelift from the healing powers of non-psychotropic marijuana. CBD touts all the benefits of marijuana (stress relief, pain relief, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties) without getting you high. From cocktails to oils to serums to toast, it seems you can’t sneeze these days without coming across some sort of CBD-infused product. These soothing and hydrating face masks are no exception.
Here’s what we sampled:
Targeting acne-prone skin as well as psoriasis, this Manuka honey-based mask utilizes its anti-bacterial properties to hydrate skin as it soothes inflammation and blemishes. Helichrysum Essential oils work with the honey to reduce redness and scarring.
Aloe Vera and Coconut Water work in tandem to create a refreshing treatment to brighten skin and calm inflammation. Antioxidants and Vitamin C contribute to a smoother, brighter complexion.
Probably the most attractive option for any woman over the age of 24, the Ageless mask draws on the healing properties of Kakadu Plum Extract and pumpkin seeds to reduce the intensity of fine lines and prompt skin cell renewal.
