Natalya Egorova had her collection presented during New York Fashion Week and I had a chance to get a glimpse into Natalya’s Spring 2015 line. Born in Russia and studying with well-known designer labels, such as Alexander McQueen and Marchesa, I was looking forward to seeing any hints of what she might have learned or picked up from her mentors. She first launched her line in 2013 and is back with some spring additions. The overall theme for this collection is the world of shadows and the reflection of light. The majority of pieces were very unconventional and I had to take some time to really study each piece. Some of the dresses had pieces of cloth hanging down or buttons sewed in sideways, and see-through shirts paired with long flowing skirts.
The accessories line from Iuri Shubladze was also very interesting to look at. The models were dressed in white Hazmat suits with gray Hazmat shoes, which I found to be very different from what I have seen this season so far. This really made the accessories stand out even more. The bags featured large tote bags in black with a stripe of color on each. While I didn’t care much about the tote bags, the bag that the model below was modeling really caught my eye because it looked so badass. The texture of the bag itself with the squares really made the whole thing work. The designer himself was very pleasant and was rocking an amazing outfit as can be seen below.
I was very impressed with both collections. There were items that I could see myself wearing from Natalya Egorova’s clothing line and bags from Iuri Shubladze’s that I can see myself giving as gifts to friends.
