Nolcha Fashion Week: Part Two – Danilo Gabrielli

by

Nolcha Fashion Week came to an amazing close with Danilo Gabrielli, and his grant of a 10,000th Make-a-Wish. The runway was teeming with 70’s inspired wear, with a clear display of right-above-the-knee length dresses, skirts and shorts. The models strutted to classic hits such as “These Boots Are made For Walkin’,” donning bold eyes and lips, and teased, voluminous, curled hair with pompadours. The outfits came in an array of black, white, gunmetal grays and beiges, along with beautiful pops of turquoise. Spring/Summer 2014 is sure to be paradoxical as it entails feminine, elegant clothing, worn with fierce make up and confidence. Here are some of our favorite looks.

The best was indeed saved for last. The real show-stopper was a gorgeous black dress, with intricate detailing on the back, causing such excitement, that whistles and cheers were heard throughout the room.

In this collection were two pieces designed by 13-year-old Katherine, who was the lucky girl to have their make-a-wish come true. Overall, the show was great and a refreshing change from the usual 90’s influence seen on the runways so much recently. I look forward to AW14 and what Danilo Gabrielli has to bring to the table.
