In advance of a week-long dedication to everyone’s favorite pairing, wine and cheese enthusiasts gathered in the cozy confines of Cocotte in the West Village to taste some of their most prized indulgences. New York City Cheese and Wine Week will kick off on March 18th, and we have some nuggets of gold to share ahead of time.
Sourced from Emmi Cheese, Savencia Fromage and Dairy, Germain Fromagerie, and Henri Hutin, a wide breadth of options will be available to lovers of many different types of cheese. The cheese selection on display was a wonderful preview of what’s to come, and featured six different curd creations, each with their own flavor profiles and personality.
Some of my favorites were the Saint Andre triple cream cow’s milk brie, of Germain Formagerie, which normally is not a cheese I gravitate towards. This brie was layered and flavorful, and each bite revealed something new to love. Cubes of Gruyere were rich and funky, with a nice bit of texture you could really sink your teeth into. The real star that took me out of my comfort zone was the Saint Agur bleu cheese, a nutty, decadent delight that paired perfectly with apple slices.
This sneak peek was a look ahead to the exceptional line-up for March 18th-28th all around New York City. Grab a ticket below to secure yourself a spot in one of the many dairy filled evenings ahead:
