Nothing is quite as mystifying as outer space — an infinite place full of history and wonderment. Right now, the American Museum of Natural History is featuring a space show titled Dark Universe at the Hayden Planetarium. The thirty minute show features the biggest discoveries in history that have led us to a deeper knowledge and understanding of the universe.
The show, which is narrated by Neil deGrasse Tyson, begins 100 million light years away from planet Earth, showing viewers outstanding visuals of the Milky Way, Earth, the Big Bang and more. The show goes into depth about as yet, still uncovered mysteries, including dark energy, dark matter and what lies past our cosmic horizon. Dark Universe is a great showing of how much humans have been able to discover about the universe, as well as how much more we still have left to learn. While gazing up at a phenomenal display of stars and galaxies, you will come to realize just how vast the universe is and how incredible it is that we know as much as we do about it. And honestly, who doesn’t love looking up at stars?
Dark Universe is playing Monday–Friday: Every half hour, 10:30 am–4:00 pm, except on Wednesdays, when first show begins at 11 am and Saturday–Sunday: Every half hour, 10:30 am–5 pm.
The American Museum of Natural History is located at Central Park West at 79th Street.
