For ostreaphiles, New York Oyster Week is a dream come true. Last week, New Yorkers got together to nosh on their favorite aphrodisiac at a plethora of events all over the city. Manhattan with a Twist was honored to attend Shuckeasy, a fun, exotic oyster soiree that took place at a hidden Flatiron loft called House Play.
The intimate event hosted 75 people, who were incredibly able to try four of five oyster species, which is very rare. In addition to four different species, there were also ten varieties of premium east and west coast oysters for guests to try. There were fun Spirited Pearls, a modern oyster garnish for guests to sample with their platefuls of oysters and oyster master Kevin Joseph was on hand to answer any and all oyster related questions. Additionally, there was a premium open bar featuring Bootlegger Vodka, as well as the first batch ever of Blue Point Oyster Stout, made with Blue Island Oysters. If this event is any indication of what the other Oyster Week events were like we know it was a huge success! Don’t miss out next year!
