Summer is the perfect time to have an all-white party. But Pop Up Dinner Brooklyn by Acura, presented by HandMade Events, is not just your average white party. To raise funds for Prospect Park Alliance, thousands of people, adorned in all white, came together for an evening of food, music and dancing.
The elegant affair started with table decorating. Guests were able to show off their crafting skills and personalize their own white tables. While enjoying an enchanting live band, guests indulged in wine and summer-inspired dishes that they brought. Supporting local Brooklyn restaurants, dinner and dessert for press and talent were provided by La Gringa and Blue Sky Bakery. The event brought over 4,000 attendees from all over New York. There were even some familiar faces in the crowd like Luca Manfè, winner of FOX’s prime-time summer hit Masterchef 4, MTV’s Girl Code cast members Tanisha Long and Shalyah Evans, Elite Model Jordan Murray, and NBA Player Charles Jenkins.
Proud Brooklyn native, Senator Chuck Schumer, kicked off the presentation with an inspiring message. Presented by Acura, multi-platinum selling singer Ben Folds showcased a few of his pop hits in a special solo performance. I have to say, this was the highlight of the evening for me. The evening winded down with the DJ spinning pop hits and the crowd dancing.
The pop up dinner raised over $40,000 for the Prospect Park Alliance and will take place every year to help keep Prospect Park clean and beautiful. Supporting local businesses and parks are essential for a thriving community and attending an elegant all white picnic with music is definitely a fun and unique way to do it.
