New York Fashion Week is here again, and for those who are attending, that means an exhausting week full of running around the city, basically on fumes, in trendy but uncomfortable footwear. Women everywhere come out of fashion week with blisters on their toes and cramps in their feet. But Dr. Joan Oloff has designed gorgeous and fashionable shoes that combine the comfort and stability of orthopedics with the trendy and classic looks of designer footwear.

As a renowned foot and ankle surgeon, Dr. Oloff is no stranger to the long-term damage that high heels can cause women. After years and years of treating patients, she finally decided to take matters into her own hands by designed a high heel that would satisfy women’s style needs, as well as her medical expertise. The patent-pending heel technology found within her shoes creates a structural change within the footwear that allows wearers to go forth without damage or pain.

While the difference is immediately felt – added cushioning and less airspace between your sole and shoe, as well as more stability – it sure cannot be seen. These shoes can be worn by celebrities on the red carpet without anyone thinking they are anything other than elegant, designer shoes. Handmade in Italy with fine Italian leather, the collection from Joan Oloff Shoes presents both classics and innovative and interesting designs that can add extra flair to any wardrobe or outfit.
