Najva Sol, head designer of Vaunt & Sol, presented the Spring/Summer 2015 in an intimate showing October 23rd in the Meatpacking District. The showcase included delicious baked treats from By Breanne and cocktails by Cliffton Dry and Fashion. Now in its second year, Vaunt & Sol was established in 2013 by friends Nicole Vaunt and Najva Sol and is back with even more amazing clothing for the every day woman.
The Spring/Summer 2015 collection was inspired by the Mediterranean. What sets Vaunt & Sol apart is the fact that they commission an artist for each collection and then use that piece of art on their pieces. For this latest collection, Barcelona artist Conrad Roset created the very striking image that can be seen on the shirts, skirts and scarves included in the Spring/Summer 2015 collection.
The intimate showing of this collection is so beneficial because I had the ability to speak with Najva Sol and I like what I heard. Najva designs for the every day woman. Not the skinny woman, not the plus size woman; but the natural every day woman. She does not discriminate and design clothing that will fit just one type of woman. Why limit yourself when you have so many women seeking out beautiful clothing to wear? Vaunt & Sol embraces the fact that women have curves and come in different shapes and sizes. I in turn embrace and applaud their philosophy.
The pieces in this Vaunt & Sol collection are all natural and eco-friendly. My favorite piece of the whole collection was the scarf that was made out of beechnut. The scarf was smooth to the touch and light weight. The shirts, blouses, and skirts were all just as smooth and really bright. All of the pieces in this collection are very easy to move in and give your body the ability to move without being restricted. The pieces are perfect to wear during the summer when it’s hot , these pieces will ensure that you stay cool.
