Snuggled away in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District lies a one-of-a-kind jewelry shop, which showcases a curated collection of vintage, antique, as well as modern jewelry. Doyle & Doyle, founded by sisters Elizabeth and Irene Pamela Doyle, displays handpicked jewelry that both showcases and celebrates gorgeous pieces from the past, while incorporating elements of the future.
Heirloom by Doyle & Doyle is the store’s contemporary line and during this season’s New York Fashion Week, the company introduced their Fall 2015 collection. The pieces, which take their inspiration from historical symbolism of the infinite cycle of life, which can be seen in the recurring ouroboros, or snake eating its tail. This motif can be seen throughout the collection, where it comprises itself on beautiful bangles, rings, and necklaces. Another recurring theme in the collection is a vine of blossoming flowers, which represent life’s potential. Ingrained in the collection are four precious stones, including diamonds, emeralds, rubies and turquoise. Each jewel’s symbolism circles back to the inspiration for the collection. All of the pieces are designed in either sterling silver, 10k or 18k gold.
The pieces, which are all stunning, impress with their elegant simplicity. Not overwhelming, each piece creates a statement without looking overbearing. They are all delicate, classic and timeless. Best of all, there is something in the collection for everyone — with pieces ranging from an affordable $125 to a more extravagant $2950.
