At many restaurants, chefs tend to change their menus with the seasons, bringing in fresh produce that is currently available. So if all the chefs are doing it, you should, too! We recently dined with Sara of Somm in the City, who created a fabulous warm winter dinner and cocktail/wine pairing. For ideas on how to revamp your winter dinner menus, check out what we noshed on below!
We started with happy hour wine and hors d’oeuvres, complete with cheese and crackers and homemade sushi. We could not get enough of the shrimp sushi, which was delicious. Next, we kept it healthy with an avocado, cucumber and tomato salad, sprinkled with olives.
For the main course, we enjoyed mouthwatering pot roast and juicy spare ribs. These were both great dishes and are perfect to serve during the wintertime. This was paired with a Manhattan cocktail, which especially brought out the flavors of the ribs.
And don’t think we stopped there. Dessert was phenomenal — homemade apple bacon brandy pie cups served with vanilla ice cream. It doesn’t get much better than this. All that was left to do was cozy up next to the fireplace!
So what do you plan on making this winter??
