‘Wichcraft Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary

Oh what a night! On a gorgeous Monday night attendees of ‘Wichcraft’s 10th Anniversary celebration in Bryant Park spent their night at the Southwest Porch sipping cocktails and enjoying the colorful, yet savory spread of cheeses, meats, and of course ‘Wichcraft’s delectable sandwiches! Founded in 2003 by partners Sisha Ortuzar, Jeffrey Zurofsky, and Tom Colicchio, ‘Wichcraft was born. The conglomerate features sandwiches like no other–after having worked together for a long time the partners decided to create a company that only serves the freshest ingredients, minus the fillers of course!

‘Wichcraft is more than just a trendy chain for sandwich lovers–the company supports local farmers and is proud to let people know where they obtain their ingredients. The company also works with the Fresh Air Fund as part of its commitment to helping communities by training inner city kids who have the energy and strive to do better and can then successfully work and grow with the company!

Okay, now that you have a little background, let’s get back to the celebration. The 10th Anniversary event was full of community members, loyal customers, and general onlookers. Bombay Sapphire had a few bar placements throughout the event and was whipping up a mean Tin Shandy and a Citrus Spiced Collins. Serving staff walked the grounds with trays of red and white wine and local beers, while the band played very upbeat music. The guitarist was engaging and really got the crowd going while the sandwiches and crudité tables brought everyone together where strangers met and could become the best of friends.

As the sun started to set, the band played on and the cocktails kept flowing. There’s nothing like NYC at night, especially in the middle of Bryant Park, underneath the stars dancing to a great band and enjoying the BBQ, the guests, and the drinks. The cake was beautiful in the shape of the number ten and put the finishing touches on the meal. Ten years is a big accomplishment in the restaurant industry, especially in New York City, but it’s no wonder they have made it, due in part to the fabulous culinary staff that carry out the company vision on a daily basis and the owners and their well respected reputation. This is a company that has done so much, has made an excellent name for itself, serves up a quality product, and can anticipate many more successful years while planning their next anniversary party for the company.
